Overview

  • % Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Asian, or multiple races - % of population that identifies as one or more races other than white, non-Hispanic
  • Educational attainment - % of population age 25 and older that has obtained a bachelors degree (4-year college) or higher
  • % Non-English speakers - % of households where another language is spoken at home
  • % unemployed - % of labor force (ages 16-65, not in school, able to work) not working in full-time, part-time, temporary/seasonal, or gig work
  • % renters - % of occupied housing units that are renter-occupied
  • Age of housing - Median date housing (single- and multi-family) was constructed
  • Housing burden - % of households that spend 30% or more of their income on housing
  • % without health insurance - % of people under age 65 without health insurance
  • % without internet - % without in-home access to broadband internet
  • % with a disability - % of people under 65 with a disability
  • Hurricane risk - Hurricane risk out of 100. Composite index that integrates frequency, severity and the extent to which people and property are exposed
  • Heat wave risk - Heat wave risk out of 100. Composite index that integrates frequency, severity and the extent to which people and property are exposed
  • Energy burden (affordability) - % of a household's gross income used to pay utility bills
  • Energy efficiency savings - natural gas (state) - Natural gas savings (MCF) as a percentage of retail natural gas sales
  • Energy efficiency savings - electric (state) - Electric savings (MWh) as a percent of retail electric sales
  • Equity in residential electric rates (state) - Residential electric rate (cents per kWh) as a percentage of the average of commercial and industrial rates
  • Community Power Score (state) - Composite of rating scales on 11 indicators of the ability of communities to develop and own clean energy. A proxy measure of energy democracy, normalized as a percentage
  • # Households with rooftop solar - # of households in a census tract with rooftop solar
  • Median income of households with rooftop solar - Data for census tracts with at least 10 households that have rooftop solar. Data for tracts with 1-10 households with solar not available
  • % of mobile homes - Percentage of households living in mobile homes
  • Single parent households - Percentage of households with a single parent as head of household
  • Number of households - Total number of households in the census tract
  • Population - Total population in the census tract
  • Home Energy Affordability Gap (county) - The average difference between (in dollars) between current energy bills and an affordable energy bill (6% of gross household income) for households below 200% of Federal Poverty Level.
  • Eviction risk (county) - Eviction filing rate
